First Church Friends:

Carolyn and I returned last night from Shreveport, LA after teaching a Dare-To-Care Training Weekend. We had several churches represented and had
45 people come to the Friday and Saturday teaching. It was exciting to
see the "light" come on in their faces as they began to believe that God
could really use them to care for people! It was a screaming trip - we
traveled back on Sunday afternoon and arrived home in the evening.
Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to share in this important ministry!

Speaking of ministries, I'll be highlighting one of our ministries each week
for the next while - starting with Dare-To-Care next week
(Ministry Directors - be prepared to share your vision!).

Thanks to Pastor Greg and his crew for filling the pulpit for me!

Please be in prayer for Pastor Joni and Rick Lancaster. Rick's cousin's granddaughter was found to be non-responsive in her bed on Saturday morning. God used the sermon that Joni preached on the "Storms of Life"
from Acts 27 in a powerful way. They are both doing a great job in Coleman.

Speaking of Coleman (he said, jumping from subject to subject) - did you
know that we donated our older handicapped bus to the Coleman church
for them to use? I probably already told you - but it bears repetition!

Have I told you lately that I love you? Carolyn and I really do!

walking the dog, and the pooch is constantly pulling on the leash trying to
get away? We simply tame it...we yell, "HEEL!" or "STOP!" or just allow
ourselves to be jerked along until our arms come out of their sockets!

That's what we do with God's power. We try to tame the power - keep it
under control so we can handle it nicely. What we forget is that God's power
is wild and untamed - and meant to accomplish amazing miracles.
Just let it off the leash!
